Minister Rene Antonio Mesa Villafana thanked Minister Ha as well as the Vietnam Ministry of Construction in cooperating with Cuban Ministry of Construction, and said that: “Currently, Cuba has a great demand for construction investment and renovation of a number of cement plants, power plants; production of stone powder, concrete components, roof waterproofing materials; development of tourism infrastructure and golf courses... Cuba also built a list of projects in order to call foreign investment from now until 2021 and wished Vietnam businesses to care and cooperate with Cuba businesses”.
Minister Pham Hong Ha expressed his pleasure to welcome Minister Rene Antonio Mesa Villafana and the Cuban Ministry of Construction delegation to visit and work, and emphasized the friendly and good relations between Vietnam and Cuba, particularly in the Cuba’s official visit took by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in March 2018 and the visit to Vietnam by Chairman of the Cuban State Council and the Cuban Council of Ministers Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez in November/2018. Along with that, at the 36th Session of the Inter-Governmental Committee of Vietnam - Cuba, the two sides discussed many important solutions to further promote cooperation between the two countries.

Regarding Cuba's construction investment needs in some areas mentioned by Minister Rene Antonio Mesa Villafana, Minister Pham Hong Ha said that: “Many corporations under the MoC are the leading enterprises in some of important sectors that can meet the Cuban requirements for the renovation of cement plants, production of stone powder, dry mortar, production of lightweight concrete components, development tourism infrastructure and golf course construction. The Vietnam Ministry of Construction has directed the units and enterprises to focus on studying the potentials and possibilities of cooperating with Cuban partners in many different fields including construction investment, production of construction materials. In the coming time, the working group promoting cooperation and investment from Vietnam to Cuba will be established by the Minister of Construction as the leader”.
At the meeting, leaders of enterprises in Vietnam and Cuba also exchanged information and cooperation potential between Vietnam and Cuba, advantages and disadvantages that have been encountering in the process of cooperation. In order to concretize the direction of two Ministers at the meeting, VICEM Corporation, HUD Corporation, Hanoi Corporation will have a specific working program with DINVAI Company (under the Cuban Ministry of Construction) about cooperation plans.

Regarding some difficulties faced by Vietnamese enterprises due to differences in mechanisms and policies in Cuba, Minister Pham Hong Ha proposed Cuba to strengthen solutions to remove and apply some flexible solutions for Vietnamese enterprises operating in Cuba, in order to accelerate the progress of cooperation projects between enterprises of the two countries.
