Many research products and applied technologies of the University of Transport such as the cable bridge solution over Truong Son, UHPC technology to repair Thang Long bridge, mechanical - electronic system to support the operation of the national railway are clear evidence of the creative capacity and dedication of the University.
Many generations of students of the School have grown up, held important positions in large agencies and enterprises and have made important contributions to the development of the Transport industry. Many research results and applied products of the School have been present in many key national projects, from bridges, roads, railways, aviation, maritime, urban infrastructure to new fields such as advanced materials, digital technology, smart cities and green transportation.
Recently, the University of Transport has actively coordinated with the Ministry of Construction to implement many key scientific and technological tasks: Building human resources; researching and localizing technical standards, especially the modern railway standard system to serve strategic transport projects. Minh affirmed that the school has demonstrated the spirit of integration, creativity and strong connection between academia, management and businesses.
In the context of the country promoting infrastructure development, smart cities and digital transformation, science, technology and innovation will become a "strategic breakthrough" for the transport and construction sectors. Major resolutions such as 57-NQ/TW and 71/NQ-CP were implemented to promote national science and technology development, setting new requirements for leading technical universities.

Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh presented a certificate of merit to the University of Transport.
At the Exhibition, the Minister directly viewed more than 80 scientific and technological products. The products introduced by the University of Transport and its partners received high appreciation from the Ministry of Construction. The Minister requested the functional units of the Ministry to conduct research to consider implementing practical applications, especially in tasks related to high-speed railways, development of new materials, green transport and smart cities.
On behalf of the Ministry of Construction, Minh asked the University of Transport to focus on 5 strategic task groups: Participate in building a national key industrial complex - laboratory on railways, serving research and testing of advanced technology.
Minh expressed his belief that with its long tradition and high-quality intellectuals, the University of Transport would continue to play the leading role in science and technology of the transport sector, accompanying ministries and branches in creating a modern, green and smart national infrastructure system.
Previously, reporting to Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, Principal of the University of Transport, affirmed, the exhibition is one of the special highlights in the series of activities celebrating the school's 80th anniversary, welcoming the founding day of the University of Transport.
“This is also the initial and very concrete report submitted by the lecturers and students of the University of Transport, together with partner enterprises in the network of excellent training centers on Industry 4.0 in the Transport industry, led by the University of Transport, sent to the Government and the Ministry of Construction in joining hands to implement Resolution 57 of the Politburo and Resolution 71 of the Government, which have been further detailed in the Minister’s Conclusion No. 372 at the national scientific and technological conference of the construction sector held on September 15, 2025.”

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung spoke at the ceremony.
The Principal of the University of Transport believes that the exhibition is not only a place to display achievements and initiatives, but also a forum for cooperation between the University - Enterprises - Management agencies - Scientific community, aiming at the goal of forming a market to commercialize scientific and technological products in the field of transport, vividly demonstrating the determination of the scientific community - enterprises of the transport sector to implement the strategic direction of the Party, the Government, the Ministry of Education & Training and the Ministry of Construction on implementing the three-party cooperation model and moving towards forming a trading floor, commercializing scientific and technological products of the transport sector.
According to Mr. Hùng, in this strong companionship there has always been guidance and direction from the Minister and the leaders of the Ministry of Construction, along with the coordination of the functional units under the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Education and Training. This has been and will be a very important driving force for the scientific and business community of the transport sector to complete its tasks.
Reviewing the history of the school's establishment, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that from the early days of the resistance war - nation building, through the stages of building and defending the Fatherland, to the period of innovation and international integration, the School has always played a pioneering role in training human resources, researching, applying and transferring science and technology of transportation, contributing importantly to connecting people, regions and knowledge of the country, making an important contribution to the innovation cause of the Party, the country and the People.
From the University of Transport, tens of thousands of engineers, masters, and doctors in the transport sector have studied and grown up, becoming leaders, engineers, officials, and great experts of the Ministry of Construction and the transport sector, directly participating in building and developing the country's increasingly modern and complete transportation system.
Many scientific and technological products of the School in the past such as the solution for the cable bridge over Truong Son, the solution of using bamboo piles to reinforce the ground for the Ho Chi Minh trail, the cement concrete spreading machine for the construction of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, and the assessment of the cause of the incident at Can Tho bridge.
More recently, the solution of using SBS additives to reduce rutting on national highways, the solution of lightweight composite bridge deck using ultra-high performance concrete to repair Thang Long bridge, and especially the solution package of control - operation, mechanical - electronic organization to support the operation of the national railway system, are all practical contributions, bearing the intellectual and dedicated mark of the School to the transport industry, contributing to solving complex scientific and technical problems, the core of the transport industry in all historical periods.

The Minister of Construction presented the University of Transport with a painting of Uncle Ho visiting the Viet Tri bridge construction site.
In the current period, the University of Transport has proactively reported to the Ministry of Education and Training and closely coordinated with the specialized agencies of the Ministry of Construction to develop and launch, from March 2025, a new training program for all five specializations in the field of high-speed rail.
The University has also organized second-degree programs and provided knowledge and professional training on modern railways for more than 2,000 transport-sector engineers. This is the first and only training program in Vietnam that fully integrates the newest and most advanced knowledge from international railway training programs, following global standards. It serves the strategy of training Chief Engineers for the modern railway sector, aligned with the overall orientation of the Party, the Government, and the Ministry of Construction.
In particular, with the active coordination of the Department of Science, Technology, Environment and Construction Materials, the Department for Roads of Vietnam, the Vietnam Railway Authority, the Railway Project Management Board, the Department of Economics - Construction Investment Management and the accompaniment of enterprises in the Industry, the school has proposed and been approved by the Ministry of Education and Training for a science and technology program on researching technical solutions for high-speed railway infrastructure, and the Ministry of Construction has approved many major topics on decoding modern railway standards and technology.
The translation and revision of electrified railway standards, high-speed railways and railway construction norms of China and Europe, which were personally directed by the Minister and assigned to the University of Transport, were completed ahead of schedule and widely disseminated to the Ministry's professional agencies and society, contributing to creating an important scientific and technical basis for the implementation of key national railway projects in the coming period, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung emphasized.
