On June 24th, 2026, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan received Ms. Hilde Solbakken, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Norway to Vietnam, who paid a farewell visit upon the completion of her term in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan congratulated Ambassador Hilde Solbakken on the successful completion of her tenure in Vietnam. He also acknowledged and highly appreciated her positive and effective contributions to promoting cooperation between Vietnam and Norway in the fields of construction, transportation, and environmental protection.

Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan emphasized that the support and cooperation of the Norwegian Embassy over the years have made an important contribution to enhancing mutual understanding and expanding practical cooperation between agencies and organizations of the two countries, particularly in the sectors under the responsibility of the Ministry of Construction.
Expressing her gratitude to Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Minister Nguyen Xuan Sang, and the leaders of the Ministry of Construction, Ambassador Hilde Solbakken highly appreciated the Ministry’s close and effective cooperation throughout her tenure in Vietnam. According to the Ambassador, Vietnam has made significant progress in developing green transportation, promoting the energy transition, and implementing its commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These are also areas in which Norway possesses extensive experience and strong potential for cooperation.

Ambassador Hilde Solbakken expressed her belief that, based on the strong foundation of bilateral relations and the positive cooperation achievements in recent years, particularly in the areas of green shipping, the circular economy, and energy transition, the Vietnam–Norway relationship will continue to develop in a deeper and more substantive direction.
Affirming that Vietnam and Norway have maintained effective cooperation across various sectors, notably maritime affairs, building materials, and environmental protection, Tuan noted that the Norwegian Government’s support programs have made practical contributions to enhancing human resource capacity, promoting the modernization of Vietnam’s maritime sector, and supporting the implementation of international commitments on greenhouse gas emissions reduction.

Based on Vietnam's sustainable development and green transformation orientation, Tuan expressed his desire for both sides to continue strengthening cooperation in potential areas such as smart port development, green logistics, digital transformation, clean fuel use, and high-quality human resource training. These areas are consistent with global development trends and will contribute to promoting increasingly effective and substantive cooperation between Vietnam and Norway.
On behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Construction, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan wished Ambassador Hilde Solbakken to continue success in her new position. He also expressed his confidence that she would remain an important bridge, helping to foster and further strengthen the friendship and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Norway in the years ahead.
