Launching regional connectivity projects
The province is urgently finalising preparations to launch, break ground, or inaugurate eight projects to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, with a total investment of over 50 trillion VND. Of these, six projects will begin construction, including: Component 1 of the Gia Nghia – Chon Thanh section of the western North – South Expressway under the public-private partnership model; the expansion of Tri An Hydropower Plant; the widening of the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh Expressway; the Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway; apartment block F of the Thang Long Home – Hiep Phuoc Residential Area project; and social housing under the Bau Xeo Industrial Park Service Centre.
A groundbreaking ceremony will be held for the Ma Da Bridge construction project, and Component 1A of the Tan Van–Nhon Trach section (Phase 1) of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project will be inaugurated. In parallel, the province is focusing efforts on commencing the Provincial Political–Administrative Centre project, covering 105 hectares and comprising three administrative buildings, a conference centre, a square and urban service areas. This project is expected to significantly reshape the landscape and urban architecture of the new Dong Nai.
Ho Van Nam, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Board and Secretary of the Party Committee of Tran Bien Ward, stated that the grassroots political system is concentrating on completing land clearance, aiming to hand over the site before August 30 to begin construction of the Provincial Political–Administrative Centre no later than September 2, as directed by the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee.
During the land clearance process, relevant departments of the former Bien Hoa City and the current Tran Bien Ward have closely coordinated with local leadership, promoting the role of key officials. The Ward Party Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Committee have regularly visited the site to listen to residents’ concern, promptly resolve complaints on the spot, and minimise the risk of complex issues arising.
Green channel to speed up progress
Vo Tan Duc, Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, affirmed that one of the province’s standout achievements in the first half of 2025 has been the acceleration of strategic transport infrastructure, removing bottlenecks and creating momentum for economic growth. The province has adopted a dynamic and flexible approach in developing strategic infrastructure, prioritising the swift implementation of key transport projects with regional connectivity such as expressways, ring roads and seaports.
Specifically, the province has completed the handover of the entire 59.5 hectares of land for the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway project; finalised procedures and signed the BOT contract with the consortium of contractors for the Gia Nghia – Chon Thanh Expressway project; completed compensation and land clearance for the section of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 running through Dong Nai; and commenced new projects such as the upgrade of Roads 25B and 25C.
A series of key inter-regional and regional connectivity projects are currently receiving strong guidance from the Provincial Party Committee to finalise procedures and enable construction to begin between 2025 and 2026. These include: the Gia Nghia–Chon Thanh Expressway; the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh Expressway; the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4; and the road linking Ma Da Bridge to Ring Road 4.
The development of transport infrastructure is expected to drive progress in four other sectors: economy, culture, education, and trade–services, thereby creating momentum to achieve and exceed the double-digit growth target set by central authorities.
At present, several key national transport projects passing through Dong Nai are entering breakthrough construction phases; notably Long Thanh International Airport, the Ben Luc – Long Thanh and Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressways, and the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3.
According to provincial leaders, these projects lay a solid foundation for attracting major investors, generating employment opportunities, improving livelihoods, and fostering sustainable economic development.
