The Prime Minister has approved the inclusion of the Quang Yen Economic Zone, in the northern province of Quang Ninh, to the national plan on coastal economic zones.

The economic zone will be located in the town of Quang Yen, in the southwest of the province, covering a total area of 13,303 hectares.
The head of government said that the establishment of the Quang Yen Economic Zone must not affect the environment, national security or local residents, and must preserve the forest area along with cultural and historical sites.
He noted that the province should consult with the relevant ministries and agencies during the planning process for the economic zone.
The PM added that infrastructure both inside and outside the Quang Yen Economic Zone should be developed in synchronicity in order to create connections with other areas, thus driving the provincial economy and the wider northern region forward.
Currently, several investors are building infrastructure in the area set to become the Quang Yen Economic Zone in the future.
