Vietwater 2019 set to make splash in Hanoi this July

Vietwater 2019, an international exhibition on water supply and sewerage, wastewater treatment, and water purification techologies, is set to take place in Hanoi from July 24-26 with the participation of over 200 exhibitors from 30 nations and territories from around the world.

The 3-day event promises to put on display a range of cutting-edge equipment and technologies from 200 foreign businesses from Japan, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, and China amongst others while a series of seminars and programs will take place during the event.

The expo is expected to welcome more than 7,000 visitors and will see the the participation of the world’s leading experts in the water sector, associations, and organisations along with individuals who want to expand trade exchange and  gain an insight into the most advanced technologies and solutions in the water sector.

Speaking at a press conference on May 30, Nguyen Hong Tien, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Water Supply Association  said water management is an urgent issue in urban areas, noting that rapid economic growth requires synchronized development when it comes to scale and technical quality of the water sewerage and wastewater treatment system.

Regarding the water sector’s targets for 2025, Tien added that the drainage system should serve over 70 per cent of the area in urban areas while between 20 to 50 per cent of wastewater will be collected for treatment by 2025.
