5th Vietnam - Japan Conference on Construction

On December 3, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Construction (MOC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan (MLIT) organzied a Conference “The 5th Vietnam - Japan Conference on Construction”.

Attending to the conference, there were Deputy Minister of Construction Mr. Le Quang Hung, Mr. Koichi Yoshida, representative of MLIT, Mr. Katsuro Nagai – representative of Japan Embassy in Viet Nam.

At the conference, representatives of MOC presented the amended Construction Law 2014, especially the provisions of the scope, sequence, procedure in the construction activities, as well as liabilities of those involved in the coordination mechanisms in construction to manage better the investment, quality assurance, safety and loss control in the construction.

Meanwhile, experts from MLIT shared the lessons learned and practical management of the construction in Japan, especially the experience of managing the cost of public investment projects.

Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung expressed at the conference that so far, the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan spreaded all sectors and more deeper, especially in the field of economic, trade. Japan has actively supported Vietnam in the field of urban planning, energy saving, improving and upgrading infrastructure urban.

Japan is among the top countries and territories investing in Vietnam, with 2,434 projects, total investment of USD 36.5 billions. Japan has invested in 49 provinces with total Vietnamese provinces of 63, 18/21 of sectors in which leading to the field of industrial processing and manufacturing with 1,276 projects with total registered capital USD 30.5 billion, the 2nd is the real estate sector with a total capital of USD 1.54 billion and the 3rd is the construction sector.
